How to use the Salary & Hourly Wage Calculator
Job offers and pay slips often use different time frames, which makes them hard to compare. This calculator converts any pay rate into every other common period using your own work schedule.
Pick the period you know, such as an hourly rate of 25, and enter your hours per week, days per week and weeks worked per year. Full-time work is usually 40 hours over 52 weeks, but you can reduce the weeks to account for unpaid vacation or seasonal work. The tool then calculates the annual pay and breaks it down into hourly, daily, weekly, every-two-week and monthly amounts.
The right-hand column of the table applies a flat tax rate so you can estimate take-home pay. Real taxes depend on brackets, deductions and local rules, so replace the default with your effective tax rate for a more useful figure.
Use the results to compare a salaried role with an hourly one, to check an overtime offer, or to see what a raise is worth per paycheck. Remember that benefits, bonuses and unpaid breaks can change the real value of any job.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert hourly pay to annual salary?
Multiply the hourly rate by hours per week and by weeks per year. For example, 25 × 40 × 52 equals 52,000.
Why is monthly pay not weekly pay times four?
A year has about 4.33 weeks per month, so multiplying weekly pay by four undercounts. The calculator divides annual pay by twelve instead.
Is the take-home figure accurate?
It is a rough estimate based on one flat rate. Your actual tax depends on income brackets, deductions and credits.
