Credits and Licences for Photos, Game Art and Code

ViralScopeHub is built from original code and artwork. Article and news photos, a few game graphics and some topic pictures are free images released into the public domain (CC0 or Public Domain Mark), and some tools use open-source libraries. Every file is stored on this site, so nothing is loaded from other servers.

Game graphics

These images, 3D models and sound files are from asset packs released under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal (public domain) licence, which allows free commercial use without payment or attribution. We credit the authors anyway because they deserve it.

All other game graphics (cars, worms, gems, cards, boards, the Cubeland and block world textures, avatars, platforms and buildings) are drawn or generated by our own code in your browser. Apart from the Kenney sounds listed above, sound effects are synthesised on the fly with the Web Audio API. The 3D games run on three.js, listed below. Game names, characters and levels are original; they are inspired by classic game genres but are not affiliated with any game publisher.

Photos and pictures

Every article, every news item and each topic page has a featured picture (77 in total: 75 CC0 1.0, 2 Public domain). They come from Openverse and Wikimedia Commons and were released by their authors under CC0 1.0 or marked as public domain, so they may be used commercially without permission or payment. We resized and compressed them and host them on this site. News pictures are generic topical photos (for example a stadium or a stock board), not photos of the events described.
