Memory Test

Watch the pattern, repeat it from memory, and see how many levels you can reach.

How to use: Watch the pattern of flashing pads, then repeat it in the same order. Each level adds one more step.

How to use the Memory Test

The sequence memory test challenges your working memory: the mental scratch pad that holds a small amount of information for a short time. Psychologists often say the typical person can hold about seven items, plus or minus two, so reaching level seven is a solid result.

Press Start and watch carefully. One pad lights up at a time. When the sequence ends, repeat it in the same order by clicking or tapping the pads. Each correct level adds one more pad to the end of the pattern, so you must remember the whole sequence from the start. One mistake ends the game, and your level and personal best are shown.

To remember longer sequences, try grouping the pads into chunks of three, like remembering a phone number, or link positions to a shape or a short story. Saying the positions silently, such as “top-left, middle, bottom-right”, can help. Stay relaxed, because stress makes it harder to keep patterns in mind.

Regular practice may improve your performance at this particular task, though it is not a replacement for medical advice about memory concerns. The game is free, runs offline once loaded, and keeps your best score only on this device.
