How to play Paddle Duel

Paddle Duel is a stripped-down arcade take on table tennis. Each player has a paddle on one side of the court, and a ball bounces between them. If the ball gets past your paddle, your opponent scores. The first player to seven points wins the match.

You control the left paddle. On a computer, move your mouse over the court or use the up and down arrow keys, or W and S. On a phone or tablet, drag your finger up and down anywhere on the court and the paddle follows. Choose an easy, normal or hard computer opponent, or switch to Two players: the left player uses W and S or touches the left half, and the right player uses the arrow keys or touches the right half. Two thumbs on one screen works well.

Where the ball hits the paddle changes its angle. A hit near the centre sends it straight, while a hit near the edge sends it off at a sharper angle that is harder to return. Every return makes the ball a little faster, so long rallies get tense. To beat the computer, aim for the edges of your paddle, and try to angle the ball into the far corners.

Rounds restart after a short pause, and nothing is saved or uploaded. It is a good quick test of reflexes and a fun two-player game.
