How to play Typing Race

Typing Race turns typing practice into a race. You and three computer cars line up on the track, and a sentence appears below. As soon as you start typing, the race begins. Every correct letter moves your car forward; a mistake stops your car until you fix it with Backspace. The first car to the finish line wins.

Choose how fast the rivals are: Relaxed cars type around 20 to 35 words per minute, Club cars 30 to 50 and Pro cars 45 to 75. Live counters show your words per minute and accuracy, and typed letters turn green while mistakes turn red, so you always know where you are. Pasting is disabled to keep it fair.

Your score is your finishing speed in words per minute, where a word is counted as five characters. Accuracy matters as much as speed, because every error costs time to correct. Keep your eyes on the text rather than the keyboard, use all ten fingers, and try to keep a steady rhythm instead of short bursts.

On a phone the on-screen keyboard works too. When you can beat the Club cars comfortably, move up to Pro.
