Decision Wheel

Add your options, spin the wheel and let chance decide.

How to use: Type your options, one per line, then press Spin to let chance choose.

How to use the Decision Wheel

Deciding where to eat, which game to play or who does the washing-up can take longer than the activity itself. A decision wheel makes the choice fun and fair. Everyone sees the same spin and accepts the result.

Type your options in the box, one per line. The wheel updates as you type, giving each option its own coloured slice. You can include up to 40 options, and long names are shortened on the wheel. Press Spin and the wheel whirls for a few seconds before slowing to a stop; the slice under the pointer at the top is the winner, which is displayed below the wheel.

The winner is chosen using your browser’s cryptographically secure random generator before the spin starts, so every option has an equal chance regardless of the size of its label or the animation. The animation then lands precisely on the chosen slice. If you want an option to be more likely, add it more than once.

Classroom teachers use wheels to pick students or activities, streamers use them for giveaways, and families use them to settle arguments. For a quick two-way decision, use the coin flip; to draw several winners from a list, try the random picker. The wheel needs at least two options, and nothing you type is stored or uploaded.
