A precise stopwatch with laps and a countdown timer with a sound alert.
How to use: Press Start for the stopwatch, Lap to record a split, or switch to Timer to count down.
How to use the Stopwatch & Countdown Timer
This page combines two everyday tools: a stopwatch that counts up and a timer that counts down. Both run in your browser, so there is nothing to install and they work offline once the page has loaded.
On the Stopwatch tab, press Start to begin counting in minutes, seconds and hundredths of a second. Press Lap to record a split time without stopping; each lap shows its own duration and the cumulative total, with the newest on top. Press Stop to pause and Resume to continue. Reset clears everything. This is useful for workouts, races, presentations and timing experiments.
On the Countdown timer tab, enter hours, minutes and seconds and press Start. The clock counts down, and a sound plays when it reaches zero. You can pause and resume at any time. Typical uses include cooking, steeping tea, short breaks and classroom activities. The remaining time also appears in the browser tab title, so you can keep an eye on it while using another tab.
The timers use your deviceβs clock rather than counting ticks, so they stay accurate even if the page is busy. Mobile browsers may slow background tabs to save power, so keep the page open and your screen awake for important timings, and allow sound for the alarm. For work sessions with breaks, try the Pomodoro timer.
