How to use the Screen Recorder
Screen recordings are perfect for tutorials, bug reports, product demos, presentations and saving a video call for later. This recorder uses the screen-capture feature built into modern desktop browsers, so you do not need to install software or create an account.
Choose whether to include your microphone and the sound from the tab or computer, then press Start recording. Your browser asks what to share: the entire screen, a single window or one browser tab. Sharing a tab is the easiest way to capture its sound as well. A red indicator shows the running time, and you can pause and resume.
Press Stop, or use the browser’s own “Stop sharing” button, and the video appears with a player so you can check it. Download saves it as a WebM file, which plays in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and VLC and uploads to YouTube; Safari may produce MP4 instead. Higher quality and frame rates make bigger files.
The recording stays on your device: nothing is uploaded and there is no watermark or time limit apart from your available memory. Mobile browsers generally do not allow screen capture, so use a computer.
Frequently asked questions
Is my recording uploaded?
No. The video is recorded and stored in your browser until you download it.
Why is there no sound from my computer?
System audio depends on the browser and operating system. Sharing a Chrome or Edge tab with “share tab audio” ticked is the most reliable way.
Can I record on my phone?
Most mobile browsers do not support screen capture. Use your phone’s built-in screen recorder instead.
